My dad wanted to take the family to Vegas to see this show. Siena had just played Dorothy in her high school musical, so it was a Wizard of Oz year for us, and Wicked was coming out soon after. The Sphere did not disappoint. The show began the moment we walked in. The seats were steep enough that we held on to the rails at first. Then the screen filled our view, nearly a football field tall, with action happening everywhere we looked.
The show is a reimagining of the 1939 film, shown on the Sphere’s 160,000-square-foot screen with haptic seats, wind, scent, and water effects that make you feel like you’re traveling down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy. We loved the apples falling from the ceiling, the swag, and the thoughtfulness of the trip itself. It was a gift from my dad, and we’ll remember it.
We also had brunch at the Bellagio, visited Area 15, toured the hotels, and ate at some great spots, from New York Pizza to incredible Italian food. It was a memorable trip.
